I recently purchased the 32″ TV in the 550 series, and I have to say that I absolutely love it. I really liked the fact that this model had 3 HDMI inputs and a USB port for music and pictures. I know some have stated that 1080 in this size is a waste of money, but as a gamer I can honestly say that the image in this model is simply amazing. Even when watching DVDs without up-conversion the image is sharp and crisp. I have read other reviews that state that the sound in this TV is bad, to that I have to say that I disagree with them. I sit around 7 feet away from the TV, and I only have the sound 1/4 of the way! The sound is even louder when the source is an HDMI cable. Therefore, if you are in the market for a smaller TV, this is an excellent choice.
1 Star Worst shipping ever
I ordered this product on February 24th, The item says Free Shipping and will not allow you to change the shipping speed // option. For an 800$ TV you would expect amazon to use a decent carrier. My package has sat in Elk Grove Village since the 27th Pilot, the carrier Amazon uses to ship the package has done nothing with it since then. I have called today March 4th ( The day it was suppose to be delivered according to amazon ) They had not even contacted a now 4th party to deliver the package to my home which I can not even set up an appointment with until Tomorrow so Its going to take what 3-4 more days before I receive it? I will never order a item this size from amazon again unless I can change shipping speed.
5 Stars Slow Delivery
I have previously purchased the same model of Samsung TV in the 37″ size for my family room, so I knew it was a really great TV. So, I purchased the 32″ model for my bedroom on February 15. And, then I waited and waited for it to arrive. Finally after 3 weeks, I was called for the delivery to be made. Although I had been told that the TV would only be delivered to my front door, the delivery person brought it in, unpacked it and set it up in my bedroom! He made sure it was working properly and even took away the box and packaging materials! What terrific service!
Even though I was really annoyed by the slow delivery, the service was terrific! All in all, I was really pleased. And, the Samsung TV is a wonderful product…sharp, clear. And, with Amazon’s great price, what’s not to like?
5 Stars Excellent Quality
I had spent several months shopping around, researching plasma versus LCD, looking at various brands and models, etc. I finally settled on this Samsung, despite being concerned about how well it would perform with my PS3, since that’s what I would be using it for. All I can say is that it works spectacularly not only as a HDTV for DVD and Blu-Ray movies, but it also makes my gaming experience great.
There are plenty of connection ports (for what my needs, anyway) and options to adjust the picture quality. I initially went with component cables, but since the PS3 will only upscale using HDMI, I bought a cheap cable off Amazon and my old DVDs look just as good as my BR movies (well, for the most part).
I also use this tv as my computer monitor and I can’t say I’ve had any problems there, either.
The only downside, as others have mentioned, is the sound quality from the speakers. But, if you’re going to be shelling out money for an HDTV, you might as well spend a little more and get some decent sounding surround sound speakers to go along with it. So, for me, the speakers on this tv aren’t really a factor.
For the size, quality and price, I think I made a wise choice.

Product arrived timely and in excellent condition. Install was easy with no problems. Sound is OK but not excellent. Will probably obtain speakers at a later date. Would recommend this LCD TV highly. Based on all reviews and research, I am happy with this choice and would purchase another Samsung TV and purchase through Amazon. It is an easy process with the Amazon online purchase program.

I order this HDMI cable and I checked out cables that were not of this quality at places like Best Buy. This cable would have been over a hundred dollars at one of these stores. This cable came to me within about 3 days. I highly recommend that if you are looking for any cables that you don’t over look this seller. You will not get a better deal anywhere. Fantastic is the only word that comes to mind with price quality, and speed of getting your product. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase, and I will certainly keep my eyes open for buying other products from this seller. One of the best buys I’ve gotten in a long time. I bought this 15ft HDMI cable not long ago. The shipping was fast, literally 3 day shipping. I connected it to my HDTV and to my new PS3 console. I have watched 3 movies, and played about 10 hours of video games, and the cable has been working perfectly so far. I compared its quality against my Monster cable I use on my HDTV-HD Cable box. I couldn’t find a difference in sound nor picture quality. But, I am not a HDMI guru…so maybe you might find a little difference, who knows…but, what I can tell you is that this is A GREAT DEAL!

When buying an HDMI cable you must watch to make sure it is high speed, digital shielded & the length is compatible with the cable your purchasing.
The further apart your TV is from your player can play a role in the picture quality. this cable is very high quality and the price is excellent. Used and tested on a xbox 360 and a blu ray player . both pictures are crystal clear.

The product was at my doorstep 4 days after purchase. The cables work great . I connected one cable from my HDTV to the cable box, then a second cable went from my blu-ray disk player to the hdtv. I have a great picture out of both devices. The price was great. I’ll never buy the overpriced Monster cables.

Excellent TV for the price. I compared 720p and 1080p TVs side by side in the store and honestly could not tell the difference. I chose the Toshiba based on reviews, and the TV has lived up to those reviews. Good colors, good motion rendition, good blacks.

I ended up paying $569 for this 37 inch TV with all discounts and free shipping which was clearly about what most brand name 32 inch TVs cost. Pros: Great picture, sleek styling, numerous features and great price.
Cons: Slight humming background noise that is present for a brief period after turning the set on. I understand that this is common with most LCD TVs and on this set it originates with the backlight, the brighter the light the louder the noise. Also, the channel change function is slow unless you take an additional step and hit the select button after entering the new channel numbers.
Overall I am very pleased with the set and would recommend it at the price I paid.

1 Star Screen Went Black -Poor Customer Service-Toshiba
We had this TV for just six months and the screen went black. Since it was still under warranty we were told to bring it to the certified Toshiba service center in our area. A panel inside failed (common for these TVs according to the technician). The first part that Toshiba shipped to the repair center was damaged. The second part was the wrong part and now we were told that the part was on backorder. We fought for a “return order” which now will take another 7 to 10 business days. We have not had our TV for almost two months. If not for my husband calling incessantly…we would still be waiting for a backordered part. We will not buy another Toshiba TV again and will be searching for a reliable product with customer service that will stand behind what it sells.

In my opinion, this tv offers the best value for your money. It is not the BEST 37 inch HDTV on the market, those rights belong to Samsung and Panasonic. The picture quality is excellent, although the red colors look too bright at times (I’m used to watching a DLP as opposed to LCD, which has more accurate colors). I agree with other reviewers about the mediocre sound. Just the right size for a master bedroom tv and won’t break the bank.

Beautiful tv. We are very happy with it. Picture and sound are great and the price was definitely affordable. Shipping took no time at all and the delivery guy even offered to set it up for us. I would recommend this tv to anyone looking for an LCD.

This set is a bit small, but man, is it a looker. It features a built-in HD tuner for digital OTA reception, HDMI & Component connectors for hi-def media players, as well as an SVGA hookup to perform as a computer monitor. The speakers sound a bit “tinny” as could be expected, but the volume can get up fairly loud.
And hard to tell from the pics here, but its cabinet and screen have a nice looking glossy finish. The only downside is that is does have a somewhat narrow viewing range (though it has a tilting base). Otherwise, a great little unit with an excellent price tag.

I shopped Walmart, Circuit City, and Best Buy - they had nothing close to this - a small LCD with Digital, with numerous A/V input connections. Good picture quality and sound. Very light weight. And a very good price! Only downside - it’s made in China, I’d prefer to buy American.

Wonderful and easy to set up. It took me longer to attach the stand than to turn it on, go through the few menus and start watching TV.
Speakers are not great but still more than ample.
No problem with side views. Picture is good from the start up and better with adjustments.
The CD was helpful for fine tuning it.
I would buy it again and tell my friends to buy it!

I think the LG brand is one of the best. It’s a great tv, great picture and with a great price. The price on Amazon.com was by far the best I could find anywhere and the free delivery was more than I expected. Corrigan Moving called me to schedule a delivery date, showed up when they said they would and actually set up the TV for me.
4 Stars Video great audio not the best but happy with purchase
I give this TV a good rating however I feel that it has a flaw. The audio could be better and I did see other reviews that also identified the sound as an issue but I did not find the reviews until after I had made my purchase. If you have or plan on using a surround sound, then this would not be an issue. I am still happy with my purchase as the picture quality is as good as it gets. The style and functionality are also very good. So as long as you are not expecting a TV with great sound quality you too will be happy with the LG50 42 inch TV.
Also as a note, Amazons free delivery of this TV was what is called white glove delivery and I had never heard of this. There were two men from a shipping service I had never heard of before that actually came into my home, unboxed and set up the TV. They made sure it was in perfect physical condition and working order. I did not expect this and was pleasantly surprised.
I did google the name of the delivery service after I was sent the delivery notification information and saw some disturbing comments about the service so I was concerned about my delivery. It all worked out for me. The delivery company did require that you be home for the delivery and I understand why now as they set it up to make sure there is no damage and also to make sure it works.
5 Stars Great quality, and underrated in “pro” reviews.
Since having bad dealings, quality-wise, with Samsung I wanted to stay away from them and stumbled upon this LG. The LG 42LG50 42-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV is a great mid-large size LCD, especially when considering its price. From reading “pro” reviews I was worried I was going to end up regretting it since it lacked a 120Hz refresh rate, which would result in motion blur. So far I haven’t noticed anything like it, and I’ve been using it for movies, over air TV, and with an xbox360. The picture quality looks great, even compared to my parents’ larger Sony. Rich colors, of course the blacks could be blacker, but it’s an LCD not a plasma so I understood that when I bought it.
Also from other reviews about it giving sub-par standard def quality. I haven’t noticed anything like that. I’m using an antenna, and the digital on-air channels look great. Of course the analog ones look a little blurry, but compare the two signals on any TV and you will think analog looks blurry.
I watched WALL-E the other night, standard def, and the picture was fantastic, as well as anything (xvid or divx encoded) I stream from my computer to my xbox, or streaming Netflix in HD. Haven’t had any qualms playing games either. This is with using an HDMI cable, haven’t tried component yet, but I don’t really see a need to.
Like everyone else has said the speakers could use a boost. For most things you’ll have to turn it 3/4 of the way up, unless the audio on whatever you’re watching is already loud. Most of what I stream is plenty loud, so not sure what the issue is. But their speaker design is very compact and doesn’t need an extra 10 inches on each side like some flatscreens do. It is however surprisingly nice sounding, not flat like some internal speakers sound. Another minor aesthetic appeal to me is the power LED. Instead of the standard rectangular green/red light, it is internal in the frame and blue/red which gives it a neat blurry circular look. Tough to describe.
As far as features, the different preset video modes are convenient when switching between movies/games/tv. The intelligent sensor works well and auto-adjusts the picture and backlight so it’s not too dim or bright. The clear-voice thing helps a little to catch voices that might be drowned out.
