Today’s DJ uses more types of media than ever before. Not only do DJs mix vinyl, CD, MP3, and hard disk, but karaoke, speeches, and computer slide-shows create ever-increasing complexity. C3USB builds on the world’s most popular mobile DJ mixer design, adding the flexibility of USB for easy, on-the-fly connection to laptops for audio input and output for recording to Mac or PC. C3USB has two USB ports, each assignable as an input or output. As inputs, incoming audio can be mixed like any other input. As outputs, you can send you mix out to a connected computer for recording. Because it employs plug-and-play USB, C3USB connects to almost any Mac or PC with no drivers needed, and works with nearly all audio playback and recording software. C3USB features a wide assortment of input and output connections, a three-band EQ on each channel and many other features that will make your gigs fun and entertaining – not tough and frustrating. Whatever twist the gig throws at you, C3USB has you covered - it’s the right mobile mixer for every situation.

4 Stars Flip Video Ultra Series Camcorder, 60 Minutes (Pink)
Real compact and functional. Great for certain uses but not serious enough to compete with higher comcorders

5 Stars Compact, instant memories
The Flip Video is the perfect size to capture those immediate moments that you want to remember. It’s lightweight and so easy to use and most of the time, you don’t need anything longer than 30 minutes. It is also easy to hook up to a computer to download the captured images.

1 Star Simple?…Till You Plug Into Your Computer!!!!
This unit is supposed to simple to use. It is until you try and view the files on your computer. After hooking it up with the supplied USB cord my computer locked up. After a reboot I was able to open the files only to recieve an error message. Reboot again, only this time a windows message saying the USB mass storage device was not working properly. In other words just one problem after another. After doing some research on line I found out that there are thousands of other people who have had the same problems with trying to open the files on their computers.

There is nothing worse than hardware/software that advertises itself as being simple and straight forward to use but in the end involves having to jump through all kinds of hoops to get it to work. To me its really simple, it works or it does not. I should not have to do a bunch of complicated reconfiguration of my computer, or have to Google a handful of “error” messages or wade through a ton of user group discussion blogs to try and get the #$@^ thing to work right out of the box!

Bottom line is that this thing has bugs big time! I’m taking mine back for a refund!

5 Stars great item Flip camera
This is a great item and very easy to use. I load right to my computer. Quality is exceptional. I would rececommend this product to everyone that needs a compact video camera that take fantastic pictures.

5 Stars The Flip Video Ultra Series Camcorder sparks creativity in GrandKids
The Flip Video Ultra Series Camcorder:The grand kids are having a blast with the new Flip Video device. They learned to import clips to iMovie and are having fun producing all sorts of zany stuff.

Logitech V550 Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks 910 000695

March 31, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment

You’re on the move all day - from your desk to your next meeting and back, from the living room to the kitchen. Wouldn’t it be great if you had a mouse that you could just attach to your notebook and go? Now, you can.The Logitech V550 Nano cordless laser mouse for notebooks - with the innovative clip-and-go dock - gives you one less thing to carry.

User Ratings and Reviews

3 Stars Not recommended for those with Macs…
This mouse is an oddity. While it really is an excellent little point and clicking device for those of you with Windows, I experienced some very strange issues with it on both my MacBook Pro Unibody late 2008 models running OS X Leopard…

My first V550 mouse worked great for about 3 hours. Then, after waking my system up from sleep, the mouse no longer worked. Plugging and unplugging the receiver had no effect, and the software was no longer detecting the mouse (it detected the Nano receiver just fine..). Very odd! I plugged it into my other system, and it didn’t recognize the mouse either.

Fair enough, I thought. I called Logitech who were very graceful and who sent me a replacement very quickly. This second mouse lasted a day, and now it too can not be recognized on my Macs. I don’t really know what’s going on here, as I’ve used tons of Logitech input devices on my Macs, and have never had an issue…

For now at least, I’m going to recommend those of you with Macs to avoid this mouse. Judging by the overwhelmingly positive reviews of the V550, I have to assume it’s ONLY a Mac incompatibility.

That said, I really like the mouse when it works! Very comfortable (even more so than the VX Nano), matches the aluminum on my MacBook Pro, and has very speedy responses, especially in comparison to Bluetooth mice.

I can’t give this a high review based on my issues, but if you have a Windows system, I can’t help but think you’d be impressed!

3/5

5 Stars The next best thing to Bluetooth
For my Mac, I use a Logitech Bluetooth mouse and it’s a great product. I also have an older PC that doesn’t have Bluetooth and, other than the fact that it uses one of the USB ports, this mouse is just as convenient. The ability exists to attach the mouse to the computer for travel and keep it all-in-one. The USB connector does not need to be removed when transporting the laptop since it barely extends beyond the side. The shape is very comfortable in my hand and the connection stays strong. Scrolling is smoother than with other products I have used, feels a little funny at first, but becomes second-nature in no time. This is highly recommended as I have always had great experiences with Logitech products.

5 Stars Great choice for a number of reasons!
So far I am loving this mouse for my laptop! The nano receiver hides nicely and is not subject to being knocked off and broken. The clip & go dock has worked out nicely so now I can carry my laptop with the mouse attached and not have to be concerned with balancing everything. Best of all, the battery life is phenomenal. I was accustomed to recharging batteries every couple of months, but if this can live up to it’s claim of 18 months, I’m very satisfied.

Although this is a wonderful mouse for the above-mentioned features, if you are looking for a full-sized desktop mouse and are concerned with comfort due to carpal tunnel or arthritis, I would recommend Logitech MX Revolution Cordless Laser Mouse (Black)instead.

4 Stars Another good laptop mouse from Logitech
This is the second laptop mouse I have gotten from Logitech and thus far I have been impressed with both of them.

I will refrain from listing all the specs of this mouse as other reviews have done it much better than I ever could. So, I will focus on usibility.

Set up is simple. By simple I mean if I can do it almost everyone else, and their grandma, can do it. I am often technology impaired, and this posed no problem for me.

What I really noticed was the size of this mouse. It is not the typical teeny sized laptop mouse that is dwarfed by a normal sized hand. It is a little smaller than most desktop mice. I would say it is about 3/4 the size of a normal desktop mouse. I appreciate this because id doesn’t feel dainty, and it’s easy to get a grip on it and use the functions.

Overall I really like this mouse, my only drawback for it is that for a laptop mouse, the price seems a little expensive. If you are considering this mouse, I suggest you do some shopping around to find the best deal available. Other than that I have no complaints.

4 Stars Decent mouse but nothing spectacular unless you use their utility software
The V550 is a decent mouse but for the price, I would have expected it to cost a little more. I will have to admit that this mouse (and a few other Logitech models) definitely have the advantage of having the stubby USB receiver. Before this, the only other option was a Bluetooth mouse (and that only had a benefit if your laptop had the receiver built in. Personally, I prefer to carry a full size mouse with me in my laptop bag, the added features and comfort of a full sized mouse more than makes up for the few ounces and couple of square inches that it would take compared to the travel/laptop counterparts. My hands are larger so long house takes a toll using travel/laptop mice. Let’s face it, we all surf a lot and it is hard to go back to a mouse that doesn’t have the backward and/or forward shortcuts on the mouse after you get used to having them. Lastly, I’m not too keen on the shape and ergonomics of this unit. I prefer something the rests in the hand so you just need to cradle it rather then actually holding it (goes back to the house of using it, that just makes it more comfortable) like you get from the VX model.

Now for the specifics on this product. It was very easy to set up. The batteries were included and the USB stub was recognized instantly by WinXP SP3. no driver cd is included, but the utility suite is downloadable from Logitech, which I highly recommend because it allows you to remap the functions of the buttons. Coincidentally, the remapping feature now includes an option to remap the 4-way scroll wheel to go back and forward. if it didn’t, this would have only gotten three stars. Mousing on a mouse pad seems very precise, much better than the Microsoft 5000 BT mouse, and the nice thing about the RF is that it doesn’t have the little lag the some BT mice have after they have been left idling for a while.

Overall, a good performer. If it had either better ergo or a lower price, it probably would have gotten a 5 star.

Stanton H4 S Replacement Headshell

March 31, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment

Replacement headshell for Stanton turntables and most other brands.

User Ratings and Reviews

3 Stars Doesn’t fit my Shure M95ED
This is probably a terrific headshell, but my M95ED requires mounting screws longer than those supplied by Stanton or Shure. My M95ED fits fine in the original headshell for the turntable, and in a previous Dual turntable.

4 Stars Good
Nice repacement and spare part.

Vrey useful if you need more tahn one.

3 Stars Good for DJ, bad for audiophile
This headshell looks nice and could work ok on some turntables. But beware - this is not quite a universal replacement. It does not properly work on my technics sl-q3 because it is much heavier than original cartridge and there is not enough range of tracking force adjustment to be able to adjust tonearm with this cartridge installed.

In other words it means: it may not work for you if you care about your music collection; on the other hand if all you want is to “scratch”, it would be a nice cheap cartridge…

5 Stars Simple, effective
I bought this headshell to mount a cartridge specifically for playing 78 RPM records. The headshell is well made, mounts into the tonearm easily, and comes with special weights in case you need them to help your stylus track better. Recommended!

5 Stars Well Made for the money! Perfect fit audio-technica AT-PL120
Perfect fit for using on a audio-technica AT-PL120 turntable. Bought an extra headshell for 78 records with a SHURE M78S cartridge. Had difficulty with hum problem due to the fact that the cartridge (ShureM78S)instructions are wrong (go to Shure web site)(use only one jumper for ground LG&RG only “green-blue” mono). No fault of Stanton H4-S headshell.
