It’s very fast speed to transfer files to this Western Digital external hard drive, just plug in USB port and it runs automatically. No power supply needed. It’s so small that I can put it in my pocket to carry with me. I really like it.
5 Stars Perfect for Movies
I bought this drive for my new macbook to swap the two drives. It is pretty easy to pull this apart, it is done like a book in a way. The front got a few scratches on it but it stays in a laptop sleeve anyway. I have no comment on the software included because i immediately formatted it but it works perfect and transfers plenty fast to watch HD movies off of it. Very happy with it.
4 Stars My Passport Essential came without Protection.
I am satisfied with My Passport Essential 500gb, it work like any other size ext. hard drive except that it have more space. I over grown my 320gb. I think it should have came with a case for protection. I would have paid a little more with a case rather than buy something that’s not original. However, if you get the Elite, it comes with a case. What are they thinking, give us a choice but then it comes with a price and time wasted. I wonder why WD have to nick and dime us.

I had a tripod for an older Sony camcorder that controlled it, so after getting a newer Sony HD camcorder I needed a replacement. The new tripod is even better than the older one I had. The best part was a fatter handle, which feels more comfortable. It is light weight and smooth working. Love it!
1 Star Incopatible with Sony HDR FX1 and HDR HC7
I purchased this product based upon what Sony showed as its functionality and design. The remote control is typical on this unit however, the connection using the Sony LANC connector is NOT compatible with Sony professional HDR FX1 and prosumer model HDR HC7. The picture on the website is not clear and let me to believe that this is what I just saw on the Sony site. When I got the unit, it was nice and well-packed but it had this funky semi elliptical head instead of the 1/8 ” radio plug; as seen on the Sony site and other pictures of this remote control combo tripod. I was extremely disappointed that Amazon and the vendor DO NOT include a picture of the plug. This will alert perspective customers that this may not be for you.

I bought this one after lots of research, as I always do before any purchase. I am amazed at the craftmanship! Its light yet very well-built. I read a lot of ctiticism about the remote-function. I don’t know what more the buyers expect from it. The feature is truly helpul in operating the camcorder, without having to reach out to the main body of the camcorder. And, finally, the ever-trustworthy SONY quality….maintained in each and every small parts of it.
1 Star Lies as usual from Amazon.
I purchased this and as seems to have become the case Amazon reps lied about it’s capability. It will not fit the lanc plug on most of the higher end Sony camcorders. I have a VX2100 and it will not work on this, after Amazon reps assured me it would. Now I am stuck with a piece of junk and Amazon is refusing to acknowledge any responsibility. Try getting someone from the USA to answer the phone or email you from Amazon good luck with that. They charged me as a US based Corporation seems they should handkle it like one. What garbage!
4 Stars sony tripod
The sony tripod works as advertised and, makes it much easier to zoom in and out. Only thing i wish is that it had a video output jack. On my current camcorder this plugs into the video out so that you have no way of adding an extra video out to the camcorder. With the old one on my prior camcorder there were slots for the video out and remote tripod. Thats not really a fault in the tripod though thats more a camcorder issue. Is fairly sturdy and works well. With the panning i wish it could be adjusted to be a little smoother. Other then that a good quality product.
