I am totally annoyed! That sleeve is at least 17 inches long. It is way too big. Other than that - it is beautiful. Perhaps they sent me the wrong one because it sounds like other customers have not experienced that problem.

This laptop sleeve is great!! It has enough padding to protect it on the go. I’m currently deployed and we have to walk about a block to the rec center to get Wi-Fi internet, so instead of lugging it around in a huge case or risking carrying it around without anything, this is a great alternative. When the weather is nasty it keeps it from the elements as well as keeping it protected from any bumps. I bought it mainly to slip into my back pack to and from places I travel to and with the side zip option you can just unzip the part at the opening of your backpack for airport security, etc and quickly replace it for easy access. Great product, and the price was very reasonable!

This neoprene sleeve is nice, but the top of it stands about 2 inches higher than the top of my laptop when it’s inside of it. I bought this along with the matching messenger bag, and it’s almost too big to zip inside of the bag.

been meaning to post this review. this pad lasted about two weeks for me…just a piece of cheap plastic junk that never really moved much air to start with.
If your laptop is overheating first thing to do is clean your vents and make sure nothing is clogging the fans. If you still need a cooling pad, look elsewhere. this one stinks
4 Stars good buy!
This cooling pad may look and feel flimsy and cheap, but it works great! It’s smaller than my 15 inch wide screen laptop, but it doesn’t bother me. I actually like how compact and flat it is compared to some other ones. The fans are really quiet (I can’t hear the fans at all!) so I would have to periodically put my hand under the laptop to make sure they’re both working. I’ve had it for almost a month now, using it at least 8 hrs a day and there hasn’t been any problems with it. It’s a simple cooling pad that serves its purpose pretty well, I’m happy with it!

its ok but not good for any laptops that have the fan mounted on the bottom of the laptop like Compaq evo you need a cooler that blows into the fan, better buy if fans were reversible directions.
5 Stars From The Sandbox
I bought one of these cooling pads 1 year ago and it’s still performing it’s function for my 12″ Dell XPS 1210. I chose this one over others because it’s dimensions were absolutely dead on for my laptop’s footprint. It’s light weight and thin, so it fits easily in my backpack with the laptop. The price was right too.
As for performance, it does very well in it’s intended purpose. I had no need for a built in USB hub/replicator or typhoon force air flow, though this pad does provide sufficient air flow to keep my laptop cool when processor and graphics card demands are stressed. It can be used with a external power supply (not included), but works just fine off my laptop’s USB 2.0 port. I’m in very dusty conditions and I was leary of the consumer feedback on low mean bearing failure rates, but the fan bearings have held up well to the elements. My average use of this cooling pad has been about 12-15 hours a day, 7 days a week over the last year (approx 5000 hours). It works well on the lap in a car or on the plane since the incoming air for the fans enters from the rear of the cooling pad, not from the underside, as with some pads. If picking the laptop and cooling pad up from either end alone, it can cause the fan blades on that side to contact the housing and bind. Fan noise levels aren’t really noticable in an office environment, or with mild-moderate ambient noise (like watching a DVD, or playing a game). I would not recommend this pad for a laptop larger than a 14/14.1″ due to it’s size and construction.
The reason for this review? Well…it appeared that the fan bearings were failing this morning, which lead me to look here for a replacement. But, I gave blowing the dust out one more try and it spooled right up, and quietly at that.

This item was a great price and now I know why. The fan is loud. Note to self, “You get what you pay for”.

Western Digital jut seems to do it right. Using this with “Apple’s “Time-machine” is the best way to go. I have lot’s or room and at a great price. Look’s nice next to my G5 Power Mac too!
1 Star Terrible Drive, just plain terrible
I cannot believe a company would put a product like this on the market that works so poorly. One of the many “features” of this drive is that after 5 minutes of no use, the drive will spin down. What does that mean to you? Well, it means that if you are using, say, Final Cut Pro and a Mac, with this drive as an edit drive, your system will completely lock up if you don’t access the drive for 5 minutes. Hope you saved your work frequently… Otherwise, it just disappeared.
This thing is garbage. The actual hard drive is fine, but the enclosure, which regulates the “spin down” feature, is poorly thought out. If it were possible, Zero Stars.
3 Stars Really wanted to buy one, but seems all about Macs and not Windows users.
I needed a nice big external hard drive of at least 1TB and with and eSATA port to take advantage of the one on my Dell XPS 420. That narrows the field considerably in the world of external hard drives.
So, I read the reviews for all the finalists, and it seems that all external hard drives have their devoted fans and the occasional review from the person whose drive failed in a few weeks and their data is gone and so on.
I tentatively decided to buy this drive, but then I went to the Western Digital site and downloaded the user manual. It was discouraging to me to see how much this product is slanted toward the Mac users, with Windows seemly an afterthought. Sure, it’s supposed to work with Windows, and I’m sure it does for some people out there, but the way the manufacturer seems to treat Windows as an afterthought made me uncomfortable buying this drive.
So, why don’t they just serve all of us equally. I looks like a really nice drive from a company that is a legend in the hard drive world. At least I’m not buying an enclosure containing who-knows-what-drive, as is the case with a lot of these new external hard drive manufacturers.
I’m typing this review while my Dell XPS 420 formats the drive that I eventually ended up buying. Beats watching the little blue bar get bigger I guess.

This external hard drive is great. It is sleek and doesn’t take up a ton of room. I love that it matches my imac. I like that it goes to sleep when not in use.

This is my 2nd Western Digital external Hard drive; I’ve never had problems with them, unlike my Iomega hard drive. I have no complaints about the Western Digitals, plus they look cool on my desk! They run quietly, just blinking away! I Love It!
