User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Nice Antenna for DTV and HDTV
Nice Antenna for HDTV and DTV.

Still can’t get one DTV channel unless I use our external antenna. But the cost of this antenna makes it a WISE purchase for someone needing a set top antenna. Try it…may work great for you.

4 Stars Remote DTV Reception
I bought this antenna as a back-up to satellite TV…we live at the coast and during storms, satellite often blanks out. The closest broadcast DTV station is about 30 miles away and the antenna picked up very nicely. At the price, it’s cheap insurance that we can get good weather information during bad weather times.

5 Stars great for its size
I live 5 miles from the TV transmitters, yet my digital and analog reception was poor using an amplified loop rabbit ear combo. The digital signal was fading in and out and the analog signal was suffering from significant interference. My neighborhood is filled with mature tall trees. I finally figured out that my problem was multipath interference of the RF signal. Since, all the city’s broadcast towers are grouped in the same relative direction from my house, I thought to try a directional antenna that claims to reject multipath. So I bought the Terk HDTVi, the unamplified version, and now the picture is rock solid clear for all the channels broadcast from that region (ABS, CBS, CW, Fox, NBC, PBS). This includes both analog and digital and from the VHF low band all through the UHF band. My antenna cable is a 50 foot run of RG6-QS that is not split. This is antenna is a great value for about $37 dollars.

3 Stars Mediocre, not much better than a simple dipole antenna
For its size and the fact that its amplified, this antenna is a huge disappointment. It doesn’t perform much better than a passive silver sensor, or even a simple dipole (single post) antenna.

3 Stars Base is to small
Although this antenna received UHF and VHF stations up to 25 miles away, the small base made it unstable when the rabbit ears were extended. It was annoying to have to re-balance it every time we changed its direction or configuration. Which is why we returned it.

2 Stars Reception bad, sound unacceptable
I bought this to occasionally listen to news radio and podcasts but it works for neither. I don’t like to send stuff back but this was so bad I had to.

The problem is the sound is geared to be big and boomy, not to voice and it’s so low and muffled it’s indecipherable for normal voice radio at any distance at all. The 30 year old portable I intended to replace with this with sounded way better for voice radio.

Second, the FM reception is very poor. My old portable got much better reception with no external antenna. The iHome unit has a little long stringy FM receptor cable that didn’t pull in stations clearly no matter now I strung it.

If you want a big boomy sound from a little ipod player this is probably OK but for podcasts and clear radio reception no way.

3 Stars Cube Clock for iPod
Just OK, not a great item. Main issue is with the read-out screen; too crowded. It would be better deleting the date field and replacing with “day”.

1 Star Broke on day 90 of 90 day warranty!
Terrible quality! Received this item for christmas, actually used it for less than 3 weeks before it broke. It will not play sound from the ipod or the radio! manufacturer warranty is 90 days, and it broke on day 90. (even if under warranty, i have to pay shipping back to company and include a $10 check for expenses. some warranty). Luckily amazon is being very gracious in working with me to get a resolution. Will not buy anything by this company again.

4 Stars Just what the doctor ordered
For a very reasonable price we got AM, FM and an iPod dock for my wife’s new Nano. Everything works as advertised….

5 Stars Great Product
I purchased this product for my brother who is in a wheelchair and has an apartment with limited space but he needed a radio. He loves it and it has a remote which suits him well. I purchased an Ipod Classic also and it docks with this product well. Very good buy.

5 Stars Small black box, big voice…
It’s the tiny box that roars: the V6000 transmits a full-range audio signal from my laptop audio output to radios around the house (including a Tivoli Model One), even at low power levels. I had to dial down the range lest I become a neighbourhood broadcaster! With AC, USB, AAA battery options, mike and line inputs and four presets for desirable frequencies and power levels, you can’t beat the performance of this black box. It’s only likely competitor is the CCrane model (which I haven’t tried) but if you don’t mind a clean, albeit mono, sound (and why should you?), this is a terrific buy.

5 Stars Great product AND Excellent service
We received excellent service from this company and I was very happy that the item arrived sooner that was estimated.

The FM Transmitter was easy to set up and use. It worked very well - we used it for a Christmas display and had it running for about 6 weeks straight with absolutely no issues.

4 Stars Excellent coverage at full power, but a mono signal.
At its full power of 200mw, I get coverage of my small home and deck with a good signal. I don’t have a multistory house so I can’t say how it would do in that case.

Pros:

1. adjustable power output from 0 to 200mw

2. coverage of small foot print house like mine is very good—might be same for a larger house with multiple stories.

3. everything you need comes in the box: whip antenna, power brick, car cigarette lighter power plug.

4. digital display showing: power output and frequency you are on.

5. power adjustable via up/down pb

6. frequency setting is digital–no drift! — via up/down pbs for the entire FM band, not just a segment of the FM band.

7. I think the sound quality is very good.

cons:

No stereo, but at a 200mw or less power, unless you’re on top of the transmitter, a stereo signal would have lots of noise anyway. Mono channels are always low noise at low power.

Other:

The unit is credit card small, very light weight, plastic case. The digital display will go out after a few seconds so that in operation, the unit is ‘dark’ except for the small blue power on LED on the side of the unit…see the picture. The power jack, and the audio jack are on the same side–the left as you view the digital display. And the antenna jack is on the left as well.

Overall: This is a good product. The case is black plastic. I’ve used other lower power FM units and find this one to be very good step up indeed. The digital display, digital tuning–no drift–, are excellent technical features. Caution: If you must have stereo, but want larger range, go for a higher powered product..but you will then end up covering your neighborhood. I use this in a ‘fixed location’ plugged into the AC, so I can’t say how it would do in a car or on battery power.

4 Stars Needs to broadcast in stereo.
One thing the description does not tell you is, that it does not broadcast in stereo format, just mono. Otherwise i like how you can plug a mic into it and broadcast your voice live. If it could broadcast in stereo, i would have rated this product 5 stars.

2 Stars No stereo? Instant loser.
How can people that are serious about music even consider this unit with it’s lack of stereo encoding?

Please be aware before you purchase that this unit transmits in MONO.

Good for churches or maybe xmas lights where musical reproduction is secondary, but for serious broadcast or musical enjoyment? Not a chance.
