Keeps the GPS off the windshield and below the field of essential vision while driving. Stable platform, but could be more flexible to fit undulating dashboards. Security is better while parked because the whole fixture can be set down on the floor and not stuck on the windshield to draw the attention of thieves. I bought one for each of my two cars, but use only one (readily transferrable). I offered the other to my nephew, but he already had bought one and likes it.

Recently purchased the Nav Mat and couldn’t be happier. Took it on a 4 hour trip and the GPS stayed put and worked great. Previously, we would hand hold the GPS because suctioning it to the window was a vision hazard. I also leave the Nav Mat on my dashboard and use it to hold my cell phone or sunglasses. Would recommend this to anyone who uses a window suction GPS.
4 Stars Nav-Mat UFM100BL in a 2006 GMC Sierra pick-up
I purchased this item at the time I bought my TomTom One XL. I tried to use the window suction cup that came with my TomTom OneXL for a couple of trips, but the suction cup kept coming loose from the windshield. I finally opened the Nav-Mat and am pretty well pleased with it, with one exception. The original suction cup and stem that came with the TomTom OneXL is too short to be used successfully in the Nav-Mat (the full circle one). I have since learned that they make the same unit in a semi circle with an open front. HDFMB-2: i.Trek V2 Open Front Heavy Duty Friction Mount Base for Garmin, TomTom, Magellan GPS Devices My OneXL will not seat properly in the full circle. The power cord installs underneath the GPS unit and rides on the ridge of the Nav-Mat. Sometimes the GPS slides out of its holder or the suction cup will come loose from the Nav-Mat. I don’t blame this on the Nav-Mat, I should have check further before odering it. The Nav-mat itself is very stable and does not slide aroud. If you have a smaller, 3 or 3.5 inch GPS unit, this Nav-mat would probably be perfect for you.
5 Stars Basic and Simple Mount that Works!!!
This is a basic mount that you lay on the dash of your vehicle. It is very simple and to the point. I have not had the mount move even with upholstery protection such as Armor All on the dash. It appears that it can be used for several accessories such as cell phones, gps, and radar detectors. I use mine with Tom Tom One XL-S gps unit. Another benefit is the ease at removing this from the dash with no tell tale signs which is a deterrent against theft. If you want a mount with ease of use, this is the one that you want.
1 Star not for cold weather
This thing worked well for the first couple of weeks. It stuck to my dashboard even at harsh acceleration and sharp turns. Then, when the temperature dropped below 30 it would slide off all the time. Finally, as I was accelerating to pass someone on the highway, it slipped off the dashboard, causing my gps to slam face-first into the shifter knob, causing extensive blunt force trauma to the glass touchscreen, rendering my gps useless.

I did not receive this item, somehow ups did not deliver and it had the correct address. I got a call to say that they would contact the seller and get it reshipped at UPS expense. I never received the item.

This case is exactly what I thought it would be. I basically use it as a scratch protector. It’s not cushioned, so don’t expect to be able to drop your Nuvi and be protected from breaking. It’s a snug case and as one reviewer noted, it may turn on your unit as you slide it in or out. Not a big deal for me, but be careful and observant. Anytime my Nuvi isn’t in use, it’s in this case. Good case for the price (it was around $10 when I bought it, but honestly, I’d pay $15 for it - any price higher than that and I’d expect cushioning).

4 Stars Much better than window mount
This item was just what the doctor ordered. No more driving down the road and having the GPS unit fall off the window. Also I can place the unit in multiple locations on the dash. The only slightly negative comment that I do have is that the friction mount does tend to move slightly on the dash. Need to readjust periodically but nothing that would make this a bad purchase. I am very satisfied customer.

It is a quality item, and its portability makes it practical. However it did slide around on my Matrix dashboard. I did put some velcro on it so the problem has ended. Since it work so well for others, I certainly would hesitate to buy it, and if it doesn’t work use velcro.

A great product - no more “suction cup rings” on the windowshield and holds the GPS securely - even on tight turns. Extremely steady.
5 Stars Love the Garmin replacement dashboard mount
I was surprised when my battery charger would no longer function on my Garmin Street Pilot. However, when I ordered the replacement I was thrilled with the replacement style. I can easily set it anywhere on my dashboard or wherever I want to place it. I never could get the original one to mount to my windshield. After reading the other reviews on how difficult it was to remove from the windshield, I am glad I didn’t mount it. The replacement has weighted feet to help hold it in place. However, if you are traveling on bumpy roads it can begin to slide off the dashboard. It may just be that my Eclipse’s dashboard is not flat.
5 Stars HUGE improvement over windshield mount!
My Garmin C340 came with a windshield mount, which has fallen off of my windshield and flung my GPS across the car several times. I’m so glad I bought this dash mount. It does a great job of keeping the GPS in place - no slipping or sliding while driving. It’s less conspicuous than the windshield mount and much easier to transport from place to place. I definitely recommend it!
