Kingston Technology’s Secure Digital High-Capacity (SDHC) memory card is designed to meet the storage demands of high-quality digital still and video cameras and other high-resolution image recording devices.
With an 8 GB capacity, the SDHC card offers larger-volume data storage and optimized recording performance with support for FAT 32 file formats. With a Class 6 rating, the card delivers a minimum data transfer rate of 6 MB per second for optimum performance with SDHC devices.
For added reliability and durability, this solid-state SDHC memory card is built of nonvolatile memory components and has no moving parts that could wear out or break. I use it with my Canon A590 camera. It’s reliable, too. One caveat, however, I recently bought a used San Disk universal card reader, which will not recognize this card at all. (It has no problem with my 1 and 2 GB cards. I think the problem is that this is a SD card and the reader isn’t equipped for that.

When I bought a memory card on ebay for Sony Cybershot W150, they sent me a Chinese product. I have bought 2 SD Cards on Amazon so far, 4gb and 8gb, and both of them are Japanese products. If I need one more, I’ll definitely go to Amazon.com!

5 Stars Perfect for the Amateur Photographer
For the past month, I’ve been browsing in the electronic stores and online for a new digital camera. I didn’t want the traditional point-and-shoot with fair to poor image quality, yet I also did not want to spend an obscene amount of money on a top of the line model with features that I will probably never use.
After narrowing the choices down, I felt that the Nikon D40 was perfect for my needs. So I bought it. For the value and price range, this DSLR is unbeatable. It has a quick and simple set up. I’ve taken about 50 pictures already and each come out more spectacular than the next. The difference between point-and-shoot and DSLR is quite evident. The color, the pixels, and the sharpness of the images. It is so much better and looks more professional. This camera will be put to good use. I’m already contemplating on upgrading to a bigger lense, preferably a 18-200mm. The lense which comes in the box with this camera is 18-55mm. But for amateurs, 18-55mm is sufficient for most. I will never buy or use digital point-and-shoot cameras again. Spending more money is well worth the quality of what you get in DSLR’s.
Take note though. There is no memory card included. So spending at least an extra $20 for a 4GB card is required. 2GB is optional. Overall, I am quite pleased.
3 Stars Great Starter Camera / Easy to Use / Base Lens Can Be Better
I bought a D40 in October 2008 for a trip overseas. At first I wasn’t sure if it was the right camera to buy. In the past I always used point and shoot camera and was not sure what do expect with a dSLR.
The D40 is very easy to use. Getting started is quick and the camera settings are very intuitive. The quality of photo produced by a D40 is superior to those I have gotten from many point and shoot cameras.
On the negative side, I was a bit disappointed by the zoom capability of the D40. I was expecting the base lens to be able to zoom in a little more.

I love this camera! It takes awesome pictures! Only thing I would do different is get the 18-200mm all in one lens cause I tend to use the 55-200mm lens more than the 18-55mm lens! I don’t use the 18-55mm lens much but there are some times where its needed! Otherwise great camera!

This camera is a great value. It’s a good SLR and I found it here at Amazon cheaper than anywhere else. The only problem was with the image sensor. It had a black spot that was showing up in all of my pictures. I would have rated this product lower, but Amazon handle the problem better than I expected. They listened to my problem and had me a new camera in less than 2 days. The second camera has no problems. If you are a beginner this is a good deal.
