The only problem I had was they had told me it was going to be free financing for a year with amazon credit card but I didn’t know they
had two kinds of credit cards and mine was the wrong one. Confussed,
so was I. Just be careful, one is put out by chase and that is the
wrong one.

Amazon’s delivery service is unbelieveable. They setup a delivery time and if they are expected to run late, they actually call to let you know. Unlike other delivery companies that say between “9am and 2pm”.

Samsung PN50A550 50-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTVWe live in Flagstaff, AZ, so there aren’t a lot of places to shop for new TVs. The choices are somehow limited & overwhelming at the same time. So I took the plunge on this Amazon offer with free delivery. The “white glove” CEVA people called & I actually had to hold off delivery until I could schedule pick-up of the old TV & cable upgrade, which CEVA accommodated. It took three people to carry out our 15 year old giantic set, and only one person to bring the new set in! Then the local cable guy came & set up HD, and a neighbor hooked-up the Bluray dvd player with Netflix & Pandora, we were watching Netflix the same night. My husband is bummed because he can’t figure out how to hook-up his 20+ year-old Polk speakers from college to the new TV, but I’m sure he’ll get over that when we get the proper sound system to add to our set-up. I can’t imagine a better picture or better service. Thanks!

My first purchase through Amazon was unbelievable. I’m very impressed from start to finish. I ordered the tv on Wednesday 600 PM and had it set up in my home the following Monday at 200 PM. Not even 5 full day’s folks. The delivery company PILOT called me on Friday morning to tell me it was in transit and could be delivered any day so we set it up for Monday between 1200 and 300. I received a call from the driver at a little after 100 PM and he said they would be there in an hour. Sure enough they arrived at 215 PM, brought the tv inside, unpacked it and set it up on the stand. They said it was the heaviest flat panel they had ever delivered. This was the easiest purchase ever made on line and I’ve made alot. The tv is speaks for itself and the price under $1800.00 was the cheapest by $400.00 that I found anywhere and I researched it to death. I couldn’t be happier with the whole buying and shipping experience. I will buy from Amazon again and would recommend to anyone.

What can I say that hasn’t already been said by so many others on this web site? This thing is AWESOME. Every single person that comes into my living room and watches even just a few minutes of ANYTHING inevitably asks, “What kind of tv is this?” and then goes on to sing praises for the incredible picture quality. I researched ad nauseum for televisions and was just about read to purchase a SONY LCD until I saw this one. There is simply no comparison.
I currently run Apple TV on this and it is just great to see slide shows of trips, pics of family, etc. And a LOT easier than pulling out a screen and slide projector! (Yes, i remember those days well…) I plan on getting a Blu-Ray player (or PS3) for even better imaging of the super hi-res movies.

I am not entirely satisfied with this product. The instructions are unclear (probably because they are written by the Japanese). It took me ages just to figure out how to operate it. Finally, I figured out that the plug needed to be inserted into the electrical outlet. It didn’t say that anywhere in the directions!
When I turned it on, i discovered that it only gets one channel. Every time I plug it in, I simply get a loud “FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF” sound and a bunch of black and white stuff that moves quickly around the screen. My friend calls this phenomenon “white noise” however, I can see black in there too. It is my estimation that this is probably some show about a swarm of files.
I also have reason to believe that this device emits harmful radiation. The label calls it a “Plasma” T.V. As everyone knows, Plasma is a state of matter in which gas becomes ionized. This is similar to the state that creates nuclear fusion within stars. Because of this plasma, this device most likely emits harmful gamma radiation! I looked closely at the T.V. and discovered that it says “made in china”. This plasma added by the Chinese is likely a communist plot to render the people of the United States sterile.
One plus is that it doesn’t use the vacuum tubes that my old T.V. has. It’s also much larger and thinner.
In the end, I recommend this product to people that enjoy watching flies, and enjoy self sterilization.

Researched 50″ plasmas & 52″ LCD’s for months and finally pulled the trigger on this little slice of heaven. For the price, this TV is by far the best thing going. I’ve had it now for about 2 months & have had no problems whatsoever. Don’t let the 720p scare you…you don’t need 1080p at this size & you definitely don’t need the extra cost. The picture is phenomenal & the white glove service from Amazon was flawless. My only regret is not buying this plasma sooner.

This is my first HDTV and so I researched this purchase for several days and I simply could not find a better deal for the dollar. The 720p resolution looks amazing and I see no need to shell out several hundred dollars more for a 1080p unless you are purchasing a set larger than 55″. I have been completely satisfied with the HD quality as well as the processing of standard definition shows. If you have young children I would recommend purchasing TV Armor or some other screen protector as my kids try and touch or hug the characters on Sesame Street at least once a week.
Finally, the white glove delivery was very good. I live in the Texas Panhandle and the TV was in my home six days after I pressed the purchase button. I was a little disappointed that only one person delivered the unit. If it had just been my wife at home when the unit arrived I don’t know how things would have worked out, so check with the driver when they call to setup the delivery.
Overall, I am completely satisfied and plan on utilizing this set for many years to come.

5 Stars Best Bang for your buck.
After searching for a HD television for the last few months I came across this television at 6th ave Electronics. I looked at all the the televisions in the store and when I came across this one I was amazed at the picture. I thought it was 1080p because it looked so clear. The sales guy also sold me on this one. Even though this model is a 720p it plays up to 1080i. Outside of the blu ray which plays 1080p there is no channel on television that is 1080p. I have a PS3 and the blu ray plays amazing on it. I can’t imagine the picture being any clearer than it is already. Also burn in is not an issue with this tv. I play video games all day and it doesn’t effect it at all.

5 Stars Still great, 6 months later
I saved up all of last summer to buy an LCD or Plasma TV. I finally decided on this model, and after half a year, I am sure I made the right call. I have it connected to an HDTV cable box, a PS3, and a wii, and everything looks incredible. When I was browsing through Best Buy, I couldn’t even tell a difference between 1080p and 720p in a set of this size, so sticking with the 720p is a great way to save.
My one complaint would be that sometimes it seems like there is a small flash of white, or at least a lighter color, when a scene shifts to something really dark. Maybe that’s because I don’t have everything set up perfectly, but it’s really a minor inconvenience.
Long story short - this is a great looking TV set that is affordable and reliable, even 6 months later. I highly recommend it.

After shopping around, Best Buy, going-out-of-business Circuit City, H.H. Gregg, this was by far the best price for a 42″ plasma TV I found. With free shipping and no sales tax, it was the best deal. It arrived within a week, carted in and set up by a private firm. (I actually set it up myself because I wanted to save the packing box for when I move). The picture is very good, and setup was easy. We have been enjoying it for about a month now, and I would do the same thing again. The picture is really just as good as the cable will allow, but overall, it is a great set.
5 Stars Awesome Plasma Display! Amazing for the money!
This review is for the Samsung HPT4264 which is this models predecessor. I can only imagine this TV is as good or better, and I could not be happier with mine! I use it to watch TV (HD & regular), play video games (PS2) and watch DVD’s on an upconvert DVD player. The picture is stunning. Better than my Sharp LCD, way better than my Olevia LCD, better than the Sony plasma’s I have seen, and also slightly better than the Panasonic that my friend has. For the money, I don’t think you can do better. I was a Panasonic fan until I saw a friend’s Samsung and was blown away by the colors, so sharp and vivid (and more so than the Panny). My next TV purchase will be a Samsung LCD which a friend has recently aquired and in 1080P and no plasma burn to worry about, it seems like the way to go, especially for video games. Incidently, I broke in my TV in as recommended, and I do play PS2 on it, and it has not displayed any permanent burn-in. But that topic is for an entirely different debate of plasma vs. LCD. I think the only way you can do better than this TV price/performance is to consider a Samsung LCD 1080p, which have come down a lot in price, but will still set you back a few hundo more than this one. If you buy this I don’t think you will be disappointed!
4 Stars It’s capable of displaying “1080p” resalotion.
I have a PS3 and i thought i would not be able to display 1080p. but i was curious so i set my PS3 to 1080p in the display options menu thinking the screen would just go black or blank or would say “mode not supported” but the screen when to black for a second and then came back at 1920×1080 i pressed the info button on the remote and it said 1920×1080 @60Hrts, BUT when i set my PS3 to 720p the info says 1280×720p @60Hrts, or when i set my PS3 to 1080i it says 1920×1080i @60Hert the difference the “p” or the “i” when PS3 is set to 1080p it does not say 1920×1080″p” but at 720p it does. so make of that what you will, at 1080p it looks amazingly better then 720p, plus with a 20,000:1 on screen contrast ratio and a 3D sync out this is one hell of amazing display for the money.
