My new Samsung T260HD Monitor arrived in factory new condition with adequate packaging. I have not used the TV function of the T260 yet ,but have played DVD’s on my computer on it. I find it to be very sharp and bright with beautiful color. As a monitor I found it too bright and had to reduce the brightness setting by about one third. This is just great as the extra brightness will make the TV function better for viewing at a greater distance when being used for TV. The real test is when I move from this monitor to my other 22″ wide screen. The difference is truly remarkable. I love the new T260.
PS. The speaker are a bad joke as noted in other reviews. However the side jack accommodates my 2-1 desktop speaker set with no fuss or muss with great sound.

I use the Samsung T260HD primarily as a computer monitor. When researching this product, I found many complaints about the quality of the image when used for this purpose. The solution I found was simple and effective. I am using this screen as part of a dual-monitor setup. The graphics card built into the motherboard of my PC was insufficient to power this beautiful display in all its glory. I purchased the NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT (About $65-$70), and boy, what a difference was made! I experienced crisp, bright, natural colors right out of box with the default calibration. My monitor arrived without a single dead pixel. I cannot offer an experienced review of its functions as a TV, since I have only used it in this modality once or twice. However, when I did, the T260HD performed to specs. The Samsung T260HD is a superlative monitor; it simply requires a graphics card powerful enough to handle its gorgeous display.

I was skeptical about this monitor at first but I’ve had it for a while now and have no complaints! There’s no tearing, flickering, etc. Colors are extremely vivid and accurate. Get one and see for your self.

This monitor/HDTV is surprisingly awesome for the price. As a computer monitor and High Def TV the video performance is outstanding. The only disappointment is the audio. It needs an audio out jack to add better sounding speakers for the HDTV function without using headphones to improve the sound quality. It does have a digital audio out (optical)port which more than likely cannot be used.
1 Star You’ll regret buying Samsung if you need service.
The monitor arrived defective, exhibiting a grainy picture. Samsung refused to replace the unit saying they had none to exchange, so I returned it for service. I then received an email two business days later saying that they would be shipping my monitor to me within 5 business days. Their online service tracking system contained no information on the status of the monitor, but did indicated that they had received it with a date 5 days after UPS had delivered it to them. Two weeks later, not having received the monitor, I called their support center. The first rep had no at idea at all and passed me up the chain only to be told that they couldn’t fix it and it had been approved for an exchange (that was what I wanted in the first place!). The approval for exchange did not occur for two weeks after they had received it. They said they were searching for a replacement and it would take 7-14 business days to ship to me. The end result is that I will be without a monitor I have never been able to use for at least five to six weeks.
TOTAL INCOMPETENCE!! I Regret every having made this purchase.

Which Size HDTV is Right for My Room?

With standard-definition TVs, the rule used to be that viewers would feel comfortable watching a set from a distance of 3 to 6 times the screen size in inches. With HDTV, the resolution is so much better that you can sit closer to a larger TV without noticing the pixels. So with HDTVs, the rule tends to be you can sit anywhere from 1.5 to 3 times the screen size (in inches) for the best experience.

Researched 50″ plasmas & 52″ LCD’s for months and finally pulled the trigger on this little slice of heaven. For the price, this TV is by far the best thing going. I’ve had it now for about 2 months & have had no problems whatsoever. Don’t let the 720p scare you…you don’t need 1080p at this size & you definitely don’t need the extra cost. The picture is phenomenal & the white glove service from Amazon was flawless. My only regret is not buying this plasma sooner.

After searching for a HD television for the last few months I came across this television at 6th ave Electronics. I looked at all the the televisions in the store and when I came across this one I was amazed at the picture. I thought it was 1080p because it looked so clear. The sales guy also sold me on this one. Even though this model is a 720p it plays up to 1080i. Outside of the blu ray which plays 1080p there is no channel on television that is 1080p. I have a PS3 and the blu ray plays amazing on it. I can’t imagine the picture being any clearer than it is already. Also burn in is not an issue with this tv. I play video games all day and it doesn’t effect it at all.

5 Stars Great Value at a Great Price.
This is my first HDTV and so I researched this purchase for several days and I simply could not find a better deal for the dollar. The 720p resolution looks amazing and I see no need to shell out several hundred dollars more for a 1080p unless you are purchasing a set larger than 55″. I have been completely satisfied with the HD quality as well as the processing of standard definition shows. If you have young children I would recommend purchasing TV Armor or some other screen protector as my kids try and touch or hug the characters on Sesame Street at least once a week.
Finally, the white glove delivery was very good. I live in the Texas Panhandle and the TV was in my home six days after I pressed the purchase button. I was a little disappointed that only one person delivered the unit. If it had just been my wife at home when the unit arrived I don’t know how things would have worked out, so check with the driver when they call to setup the delivery.
Overall, I am completely satisfied and plan on utilizing this set for many years to come.

I am not entirely satisfied with this product. The instructions are unclear (probably because they are written by the Japanese). It took me ages just to figure out how to operate it. Finally, I figured out that the plug needed to be inserted into the electrical outlet. It didn’t say that anywhere in the directions!
When I turned it on, i discovered that it only gets one channel. Every time I plug it in, I simply get a loud “FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF” sound and a bunch of black and white stuff that moves quickly around the screen. My friend calls this phenomenon “white noise” however, I can see black in there too. It is my estimation that this is probably some show about a swarm of files.
I also have reason to believe that this device emits harmful radiation. The label calls it a “Plasma” T.V. As everyone knows, Plasma is a state of matter in which gas becomes ionized. This is similar to the state that creates nuclear fusion within stars. Because of this plasma, this device most likely emits harmful gamma radiation! I looked closely at the T.V. and discovered that it says “made in china”. This plasma added by the Chinese is likely a communist plot to render the people of the United States sterile.
One plus is that it doesn’t use the vacuum tubes that my old T.V. has. It’s also much larger and thinner.
In the end, I recommend this product to people that enjoy watching flies, and enjoy self sterilization.

Wasn’t sure I was going to be pleased with this system or not, after a few weeks just love it. Great system- just the right amount of inputs, nice easy setup, nice sound, and huge bang for the buck (payed $320), only complant I have is that the included DVD player when using a HDMI cable, needs a digital audio cable (either coax or optical) - seems stupid since HDMI carries digital audio. but not a huge deal

Item was selected based on Consumer Reports reviews. Amazon offered it through a third party, the price was right and it was purchased. Delivery was timely and, although more work than anticipated, installation to the point of testing components shows great performance. Nice, compact package for our 1950-something sized living room.

it sounds great. it’s not Bose, but it also doesn’t COST as much as Bose. Great for a medium sized room. DVD player is a little clunky, and i’m not a fan of 5-disc players, but it’s what came with it. Oh well.
I’m sure there are better out there, but if you’re on a budget, this one is def a good contender.
2 Stars Problems with hdmi input
Receiver had something loose rattling around inside. Opened and found broken piece off plastic housing. Did not effect perfomance, or so I thought. Some months later one of the hdmi inputs became intermittent. Not too happy with tiny center channel speaker. Replaced with a larger Sony speaker after a couple of weeks. Overall not very happy so I bought a Yamaha 5.1 receiver, also with hdmi pass through, and just kept the Sony speakers. Yamaha definitely sounds better.

I’ve had this system for about two months now and am pretty satisfied with it. Setting up the speakers was a pain in the ??? though. Connecting my HDTV,dish network box and DVD player(now a PanasonicBD35)was a little frustrating because I didn’t realize you needed a optical digital cable to get any sound eventhough I connected my componets with HDMI cables. If your planning on getting a Blue Ray DVD player you might want to get a higher end receiver, so you can really get the theatre surrsound. Even with these little problems this system puts out good surround sound for a small area. The auto calculation feature works well for those of us who are not “audiophiles”. So if you’er looking for system that puts out good sound for the price and can be easy to setup if you already know the pit falls then this is the system for you.

This would be perfect - except that it is difficult to see the screen in bright daylight. Otherwise, a really great deal.
2 Stars You get what you pay for.
The upside is that it is cheap. The downside is that its shape is awkward to hold, it is slow to adjust exposure and auto focus and is useless in even modest amounts of light (like an average lit indoor setting). If you’re going to be outdoors you’ll probably be okay but even then the exposure adjustments are that good and I get a lot of over exposure. I would not get this camcorder again therefore I wouldn’t recommend you get it the first time.

I’ve always been satisfied with JCV products and this is no exception. The sound and picture are excellent and the zoom is great! I know that digital is the way most people are going, but the tapes are inexpensive and easy to use and I like the idea of having everything on tape. The camera connects to the computer easily and the uploads are very simple. On top of everything else, the quality is high and the price is low. In fact, this is one of the most inexpensive video cameras on Amazon! Great buy!

I bought this camcorder bcuz I have relocated in Asia and wanted to be sure I could save some of the fabulous views here. I have enjoyed the ease of operation and the quality of the recordings. I’m very happy with my choice of this product.

I bought this camera to video my daughter as she grows up. It is easy to use and very simple to set up. The picture quality is fairly good.
The only problems with it are it doesn’t come with a case and it doesn’t come with a firewire cable. The cable only costs a dollar, and I can’t see why one wasn’t included.
