4 Stars Not bad
I read the first review which seemed a bit off as I saw it on other sites (maybe they’re registed on a few) so I wanted to post my own.
Well I am going on a vacation of a lifetime to hawaii and I figured why not pull out all the stops and buy a top of the line waterproof camera. Basically also a camera that I could put through the ringer without worrying about dropping it in sand, taking into a waterfall and one that could take some nice pictures.
First off I am using the M+ cards that olympus makes you buy. I read somewhere that to take videos that have a duration longer then 10 seconds or for panorama pictures you need one (can anyone prove me wrong?). Little dissapointed at that so no 5 stars.
Secondly the panorama mode is probally one of the nicest features I have ever had the pleasure of messing around with. I can literally take a picture of my whole backyard and look at it in one picture (three pictures stitched together). Does it all in camera and it is very nice.
I have not tested it in the ocean yet so I will get back to everyone on that. The camera has a beauty mode which I can actually say works very nice. It shows you what the picture looks like before it touches it up and then after the touchup which is quite a difference (and nice).
One problem that I have noticed are night shots which looks slightly grainy. Im taking the picture in 12m mode with fine resolution, so each shots is around 3900×2900 (off the top of my head I know thats not exact) checking in at about 4mb a shot. So it might be that on my 1600×1200 monitor it is zoomed in a bit too much, but still slightly dissapointing. So again no 5 stars.
The LCD screen really is quite nice. I was fiddling around with it outside in direct sunlight and I could see the screen very clearly. No fidgeting to cover it with my hand at all, it all showed up nicely. The auto mode works nice just like any other camera and the P mode works if you want to fiddle with some of the other options. I’ll try tap control out sometime and let you know how that works. Also I do not know of any hosting sites so someone point me to one and I will setup some of the pictures I have taken for your own insights.
Overall I like the camera tremendously so far. Takes amazing panorama pictures, daytime pictures are fantastic. Night shots look a bit grainy but that might be from my ineptitude. Camera is also very nice to hold and just feels sturdy. 4 outta 5 without a doubt.
2 Stars Not so fast…
One thing you’ll notice w/other reviews is the “Haven’t tried it in water yet, but I’ll let you know” line.
I was totally in love with the Olympus 8000. Compact, sleek looking and had a nice heft to it. The different features & menu were fun and easy to use. It was awesome! Then, my vacation (the main reason I bought it)snorkeling in Aruba. The first in-water try out, off of the resorts beach (not much to see), seemed to go well. Then next day, I was psyched to take it to a “premiere” snorkeling spot. Long story short, It just kind of didn’t work and upon further inspection I could see air bubbles coming from the lens. The incident most definitely “harshed on my mellow”. I wasn’t even angry, just kind of deflated.
So there you go. Water tested…and it took a giant dump.
5 Stars A Duel image stabilzer thats really study when you are not
This is the best Olympus camera I have ever had yet, It,s compact ,solid construction, makes it easy to handle and store. The duel stabilizer lets me take pictures without fear of moving and ruining that one in a thousand shot, I was afraid of the small construction with my big hands, but no problem. And with the silicone cover it,s even easier to handle with wet hands, something I would never do with my last 3 camera,s for fear of ruining it. And in the woods or brush I have no fears of dropping it or getting it wet, because it,s waterproof and shock resistant and with the small case it fits on my belt and it goes everywhere I go. I got the extra battery for extended trips and with the 2gig memory card, I won,t fill it up any time soon and what I see in the viewfinder is what I get. No more hoping the rest of the picture is there and with the wide angle lens you won,t ever miss much . I could spend hundereds or thousands of dollars for real Hi ends camera,s with these features, but this one covers most of the bases we could ever want in a low cost Hi tech camera. Thanks for thinking of the average user like me and the in the real world my camera needs to be used in.

5 Stars Tough, Dependable and Great Quality
Being in the military deployed several times in some really crappy places, I have gone though the cameras. Next to my rifle, this little camera has been one of the most used tools in my combat load. I can’t wait to see how it works underwater on much needed R&R.
The Black version I have but would be happy with either one. The images are sharp and fast to focus compared to other Point N Shoots. The little sound speaker is weak by itself but hooked up to the tube it works fine. So far no problem with accidental battery door openings like I had with an earlier Olympus version. This camera has a nice sturdy feel and lots of settings and yes the tap function works well with nomex gloves.
The only thing that sometimes bothers me is that the lenz is in the upper left corner as you are shooting — it’s easy to get your finger in the picture if you dont hold it as indicated in the instructions. Normal center lenzes I haven’t had that problem but this is minor issue cause now it’s like I am aware of it.
12mp is huge for a field camera so I tend to use it more on the 5mp setting with the 2 gig xd card and the little neoprene case. It also comes with the xd adapter for the micro sd so that goes straight from the camera to phone slot for micro sd and using the SD adapter goes straight in the laptop port. No need to carry extra cables.
For the money, if you want a great camera in tough places, this is your best choice.

4 Stars too early to tell for sure, but…
ok so far; no problems; great price. Only thought is it would be nice to have a little more length in the USB cable.
5 Stars Great external hard drive
I had no space in my computer for my music and video files. I decided to buy the Toshiba hard drive, and that was a good choice. I have no problem with this device. It works pretty well. It’s really useful for me. I recommend.
1 Star Noisy. Stop working after one month of use
I purchased this external HDD trusting on Toshiba brand. After one month of use, at home & office, it started to make some strange cliking noise and stopped transfering data. I never dropped the disk. The data inside the disk (about 150 gigas) is safe, but I can’t transfer new data. Worst disk ever.
5 Stars Portable Hard Drive
Great little external hard drive, plug in and play literally. I even have Vista for all you guys (and girls) worried about compatibility. I would buy from them again too.
5 Stars Great Buy for a Great Price
I originally bought the same brand of external hard drive for my friend except it was 250 GB and as I was uploading music to it, realized how great of a transfer speed it had, besides it being compact and easy to carry. I found the same brand but a 320 GB on here for $40 cheaper than you can get it in the store and again, I am impressed at the transfer speed. I suggest this to anyone who is looking for portability in an external hard drive to purchase this product. It is worth the price.

4 Stars My Passport Essential came without Protection.
I am satisfied with My Passport Essential 500gb, it work like any other size ext. hard drive except that it have more space. I over grown my 320gb. I think it should have came with a case for protection. I would have paid a little more with a case rather than buy something that’s not original. However, if you get the Elite, it comes with a case. What are they thinking, give us a choice but then it comes with a price and time wasted. I wonder why WD have to nick and dime us.
5 Stars Perfect external hard drive.
It’s very fast speed to transfer files to this Western Digital external hard drive, just plug in USB port and it runs automatically. No power supply needed. It’s so small that I can put it in my pocket to carry with me. I really like it.
