User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars GREAT, but weak bass.
If you have your own or separate woofer, then these add ons work excellently as portable speakers.

5 Stars Happy camper
I have music playlists from Napster on my computer that I want to listen to in other rooms but running speaker wires would be impossible. These wireless speakers solve the problem very nicely.

I connected the transmitter to the computer, plugged the speakers into an AC outlet and turned on the music. Real easy. I’m no audiophile but I like what I’m hearing.

The only problem I’m finding is that the transmitter doesn’t pick up all audio signals. Napster and various online am/fm stations play fine but I can’t get signals from others such as AOL Radio or Pandora.

Still, a thumbs up from me

5 Stars great addition to the garage
I am able to listen to on-line music in the garage. I was able to hang the speaker high up out of the way.

5 Stars Pretty cool. Great value.
This speaker system works. Set up was easy. The sound is good. I added a third speaker to the two that come with the system, and it worked without issues. I have not tried the speakers out on battery, nor have I tested the waterproofness of them. Recommended.

3 Stars Good for voice broadcasts
I bought this product as a complement to my Logitech Squeezebox, which utilizes my powerful stereo and is excellent for listening to music. It’s a hassle to use it to listen to NPR and I never figured out how to use it with Windows Media Player, so thus the purchase. I bought 2 for my living room and one for my bathroom. The Audio Unlimited speakers were a snap to set up and the single speaker I mounted in my bathroom uses the batteries and I get very long life out of the NiMH C cells I loaded into it. Where the speakers fall short is in listening to music - they lack depth, bass, and volume. So I use them exclusively for listening to voice broadcasts, which they perform well.

5 Stars Goes Great with iPhone
Super accessory for your iPhone!!

When I plugged the transmitter into iPhone, it said on the screen the device attached isn’t compatible asking “Would you like to switch to airplane mode?” I just selected “No” and the headphones began to work in ipod mode (without me selecting it) - no problems there. I then played my favorite radio app, Pandora, which played great. I tried another favorite radio app, PBS, with excellent results as well.

The sound is amazingly good stereo - very clear! When I walked the maximum distance away from iPhone (30 ft), the headphones abruptly stopped playing, then quickly started back up again when I went back towards the phone. I

WAS able to go into an adjacent room with good results through the wall and also out onto my patio with the heavy sliding glass door closed (ran clear as a bell)!

I had excellent results talking on the phone with the headset which has a built in mic. All buttons are well placed on the right earpiece.

The directions are a bit less than ideal. Incorrect grammar tells me a native speaker didn’t write them. For example: “If playback cannot start automatically, try start playback on iPod.” (I think I understand that.) I never could find how you end a session correctly. The directions warn you that turning off the transmitter will “turn off iPod” (it actually just puts it into sleep mode).

There is nothing mentioned about sharing music with more than one set of headphones at the same time using one transmitter. This would be helpful to know. Perhaps someone could leave a comment on that.

My iPhone (it’s new) was fully charged when I started the session. It ran down to 10% in about 3 hours of play (headphones still running strong). I dropped the transmitter on the cement patio (damn it!), but it worked fine when I tested it. I wish these came with a carrying case.

This set is just great! I love it!

5 Stars Perfect!
If you want the best headphone, buy this Sony!

Works with my Blackberry, works with my iPod, works with my PC…

Always with a crystal clear sound!

Don’t buy any other headphone, buy this product! Perfect!

5 Stars Great wireless set
Bought as a gift for my husband and he couln’t be happier. Says they’re comfortable, light weight and he can listen to what he wants when working out. Would recommend to anyone.

5 Stars Excellent. Avoid BlueAnt X5
These eat the BlueAnt X5 for breakfast. Fortunately, when I bought these they were $75.52 here on Amazon. Wow, how the price has gone up in a week! D’Oh!

As I implied, these smoke-check the BlueAnt X5, which I bought here for about the same price, and returned. See my review of the X5 if you’re considering getting them, and then get these (even at their additional cost). The difference is remarkable.

These have deep bass, crisp drum strikes, clear full midrange and sparkling highs. They sound like wired phones to me. They aren’t quite as loud as having wired phones with my iPod touch, but close. I wasn’t expecting much after buying and returning the BlueAnt x5, but I am a believer now.

I paired them with my phone and checked my voicemail, but I’ve not made a call on them yet. The sound on my voicemail was clear, but I can’t comment on how clear I would sound to a fellow caller.

My only complaint is they can’t be charged via USB. That’s weak.

The “Personal Area Network” in my ScotteVest just became obsolete. Wireless Baby! WooHoo!

“My God these phones are freakin’ sweet…” (in my best Peter Griffin voice)

5 Stars NEVER GO BACK TO REGULAR HEADSETS
I RUN AND DO EXERCISE 5 DAYS PER WEEK AND I DO NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEM WITH THESE HEADSET. THE QUALITY IS THERE AND I WILL NOT GO BACK TO USING MY OLD HEADSET. THE PRICE IS A LITTLE BIT HIGH BUT IT’S WORTH IT. THANK YOU SONY!

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Speakers sound great!!
I purchased this system for my daughter, and we both love it. Sound is loud and clear, works perfectly. I’d highly recommend this!

5 Stars Ipod Speaker System
THis product is great. It came quickly and works nicely.

We plan to order another one soon!

5 Stars Works with iPod Nano 4G
Fast shipping. Great little speakers that work with the iPod Nano 4G and look nice too! The remote control battery was garbage and died after 2 days of minimal use but it now works perfectly fine with a new one.

3 Stars Not well-suited for iPhone
This system gives decent sound for its size, but is not well-suited for an iPhone.

Once the ipHone is seated on the docking station, the recess makes it quite difficult to press the “home” button to switch between iPhone applications. I bought it mainly to use as a source for streaming music from NPR stations and with Pandora, and so this made it quite difficult to use. I suspect that the same problem may well exist for other similar systems with a built-in docking station.

I’ve returned this system and will replace it with a simple set of powered speakers.

4 Stars Well worth the money
I really like the style of function of these speakers. They work well with my iPhone, and the system is a lot less than most. The sound quality is good and the desing is stylish. I also like the remote function.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars I love this thing!
I really shopped around for portable speakers before deciding on the IMainGo2. After reading David Peterzell’s review here, I purchased it about a month ago. Yes, there is some distortion when I turn it all the way up, and I agree that it would be nice to be able to use a/c power, but I absolutely love not wearing ear buds or headphones and being able to share my music with others. I’m listening to it right now at work. Awesome gadget for $40!

4 Stars battery changing problamatic
fantastic sound–aaa batteries last over 20 hours–rechargeable about 10–battery changing is a PIA and i cut my thumb putting them it–

i would definitely buy this again and all my friends are amazed as i am about the sound–clear plastic screen is not replaceable –a rechargable all li is definitely needed

5 Stars iMainGo2
When they say the batteries arent easy to get into this player, they are correct. However, that is its only fault. This puts out amazing sound for its size. Dont hesitate.

5 Stars Buy it–it’s so great
This thing is great. The sound is great, it protects the ipod, and it’s way better than my crappy computer speakers (you can use it to replace them). I’m listening to music on it right now from Pandora.com (another great thing, if you haven’t discovered it yet). The IMainGo2 is plugged into the headphone jack on my MacBook.

It’s totally portable, takes batteries you can buy anywhere, and protects your ipod. It’s light, and will fit in my purse but not my pocket. What a great discovery. I’m literally going to buy a couple of these for family members at Christmas, when the holidays roll around. I got mine for $35, such a deal. It’s a gift option for anyone with an ipod or a computer that has bad speakers. Oh, also, apparently you can use it as a speaker phone with a lot of cellphones. Haven’t tried that yet.

4 Stars Great Design and Great customer service.
I got this product for christmas as a gift and unfortunately mine appeared to be defective. Therefore I can’t give an accurate review of the sound. Some sort of speaker maybe wiring issue. But as I attempted to contact Imaingo the representative that responded (his name was Bob I believe) was very, very willing to help me. I was very satisfied with the way I was treated and the speed that the Imaingo representative responded. Unfortunately I got impatient and returned the item before the issue could be resolved, although the rep was more than willing to resolve the issue. I will comment however on the design. I loved the way this speaker unit is set up. It is the perfect size to carry my ipod touch and protects it very well. I think that I may give this another chance at some other time. After getting the refund for returning this item I purchased the Altec Lansing orbit im-207. It was just what I was looking for as far as sound goes. and it was only $15, but it lacks the case and fully enclosed set up that this has. All in all this unit is good and like I said I will probably give it another try soon. The only reason that I gave it 4 stars is because mine was defective, from reading others reviews though it seems mine being defective was an anomaly. If nothing else this product deserves 5 stars for customer service response alone, and the case design is perfect.
