I was looking for a small flat screen TV for my bedroom and this has been perfect. Picture is great, sound is good, screen size options for DVDs are great. Plenty of hook-ups in the back to connect with any modern DVD or video game players.

I was pleased with this TV. Several reviewers complained of the sound quality. I’m not sure why. And I’m a fuss budget. Especially about sound quality. I complain about the sound in movie theaters if they don’t have it right. I think it is a good TV and the sound on mine is fine.
3 Stars When it works, it works nice - BUT how long..??
I purchased this TV/Monitor after an extensive research and after my GATEWAY let me down after only 9 months!! The first TOSHIBA arrived from Amazon very quickly …DEFECT!! : Blurry image and fuzzy colors … AMAZON, as usual, did a great job of replacing it and providing shipping labels for the defect return. Now I am worried, how long this one is going to last..!!? After about a month or two of operation, the other morning it would not “boot up” and had a medium bright, blank screen, After several tries, it finally worked again and has since then. I have serious concerns about these TV Monitors for “MULTI USE”, which are computer chip controlled..!!! Every time the screen flickers, I worry it might “die” again… (may be it’s only the satelite signal … I HOPE!) P.K.H.

The TV is very attractive. But I neglected to check whether or not it could be hung. Cannot as all the plugs are on the back.
Picture is beautiful. But we have some reception problems with it even after purchasing separate antenna.

5 Stars Right price, lots of features, for a small space
Researched this product, wanted it in white, most of the big box dealers only had black, and needed this due to space constraints in our travel trailer and it’s a replacement for our analog RCA. Most state parks in Texas don’t have cable, so we wouldn’t have been able to watch anything after the turn off date. First one arrived and wouldn’t consistently play the DVD’s, returned it to the dealer, (don’t mess with Toshiba) prepaid, and a week later we had the replacement unit. Works all the way and the HDTV picture is great. Only problem I can see is the limited volume capability. No components to hook up either, 1 remote, 1 set!!!

I reckened I would be better off watching a good DVD on transcendental meditation rather than watching the world news on TV these days, so I bought this 19 inch DVD combo mostly to play DVDs on a highly portable self contained unit.
I bought my unit used from Amazon.com at a substantial discount to the new price. I am not too familiar with all the competition, and can’t vouch for competitiveness of the brand new price. New, it does seems reasonably priced, however, for the quality and usefulnes of the unit.
So far seems to work ok as a practical portable relatively inexpensive light weight DVD player and TV set. video seems fine. audio is ok in a fair sized living room dining room.
The limited maximum audio volume could be a problem for some people in a very large room or in a noisy environment, if you are sitting many feet from the set, or where the source material is very low volume. I find my GE external stereo speakers with built in amplifiers have considerably more volume and potential stereo seperation. They cost only $10 from Target. Similiar ones are widely available at Amazon.com, and elsewhere.
So far I haven’t had the need to use external speaker amplifiers.
The unit seems to work fine as it is, and it is only around 12 lbs., highly practical and portable.
Larger speakers built in would probably increase the weight and bulk, reduce its portability. Given the availability of small very inexpensive stero external speakers-ampliers, if desired, I am not sure larger built in speakers in this unit would be a better idea than the current design, given the possible cost in bulk and weight of larger speakers.
Con: suggestion for Toshiba and all the manufacturers, an option of a non reflective black plastic frame would be better than the reflective black frame that comes with this unit, I think.
Some people may prefer white rather than black, especially in the kitchen. A matter of designer taste.

I purchased this T.V. for my office and I love the picture, DVD and I hooked my IPOD speaker bar to it for better audio. Absolutely love it!

I have two of these in my home, and both have been working flawlessly for several months. The tuner circuitry in this Toshiba is absolutely the best I’ve ever used. Even when signal strength fluctuates due to surrounding obstructions and interferences, the tuner has an uncanny ability to fine-tune the station and then lock the reception on the signal. Both the video and audio performance of this unit are superb, the onscreen navigation is well-designed and easy to operate, and the flexibility for different input configurations is excellent. I’m especially thankful for the broad-width pedestal base, which provides a VERY stable placement. The Toshiba pedestal for this TV is far superior to many others I’ve seen which tend to be small and therefore could allow those other TVs to tip.

I bought this for my parents for Christmas at a price of 349.95 with free shipping. It was being sold by Tigerdirect through Amazon. I’m not sure who is at fault politically, but I ended up paying $125 for shipping. After many emails and conversations and of course both companies playing the blame game, I still don’t have and won’t get my money back. I could have ordered this TV at many other places for the same price and free shipping but choose AMAZON because I wanted one other item on their site. If I would have saved the promotional web page when I ordered, this would all go away. Sooo, in the future I will save all pages when ordering especially from AMAZON, and recommend everyone do the same…great TV though

Excellent TV for the price. I compared 720p and 1080p TVs side by side in the store and honestly could not tell the difference. I chose the Toshiba based on reviews, and the TV has lived up to those reviews. Good colors, good motion rendition, good blacks.

I ended up paying $569 for this 37 inch TV with all discounts and free shipping which was clearly about what most brand name 32 inch TVs cost. Pros: Great picture, sleek styling, numerous features and great price.
Cons: Slight humming background noise that is present for a brief period after turning the set on. I understand that this is common with most LCD TVs and on this set it originates with the backlight, the brighter the light the louder the noise. Also, the channel change function is slow unless you take an additional step and hit the select button after entering the new channel numbers.
Overall I am very pleased with the set and would recommend it at the price I paid.

1 Star Screen Went Black -Poor Customer Service-Toshiba
We had this TV for just six months and the screen went black. Since it was still under warranty we were told to bring it to the certified Toshiba service center in our area. A panel inside failed (common for these TVs according to the technician). The first part that Toshiba shipped to the repair center was damaged. The second part was the wrong part and now we were told that the part was on backorder. We fought for a “return order” which now will take another 7 to 10 business days. We have not had our TV for almost two months. If not for my husband calling incessantly…we would still be waiting for a backordered part. We will not buy another Toshiba TV again and will be searching for a reliable product with customer service that will stand behind what it sells.

In my opinion, this tv offers the best value for your money. It is not the BEST 37 inch HDTV on the market, those rights belong to Samsung and Panasonic. The picture quality is excellent, although the red colors look too bright at times (I’m used to watching a DLP as opposed to LCD, which has more accurate colors). I agree with other reviewers about the mediocre sound. Just the right size for a master bedroom tv and won’t break the bank.

Beautiful tv. We are very happy with it. Picture and sound are great and the price was definitely affordable. Shipping took no time at all and the delivery guy even offered to set it up for us. I would recommend this tv to anyone looking for an LCD.
